The evolution of Giesen

  • timeline1

    1988 - The foundation

Our roots lie in the Netherlands, specifically in Ulft. a small town in Gelderland known for its strong ties to the metal industry. This is also true of the metalworking company “De Eik.” Mr. Bussink began manufacturing parts for coffee roasters in 1988. Unfortunately, he passed away far too soon, leaving Karin Bussink and her husband Wilfred Giesen to carry on the business.

  • timeline2

    2006 - The leap

Wilfred saw something special in coffee roasters. Something he hadn’t seen on the market before. After years of experience manufacturing parts for coffee roasters, he decided in 2006 to take the leap and turn his vision into reality. Not only was the Giesen W6A born; from that moment on, De Eik became Giesen Coffee Roasters.

  • timeline3

    2009 - The breakthrough

Wilfred Giesen and Marc Weber worked tirelessly to promote the coffee roasters. And their efforts paid off: by 2009, Giesen had become a well-known player in the market and established itself as the industry standard in specialty coffee roasters.

  • timeline4

    2012 - The evolution

By 2012, Giesen had grown to 30 employees and launches its first industrial roaster, the W45A. This roaster opened new markets and paved the way for full industrial solutions. In the years that follow, the range expands from a precision sample roaster to the W140A, the largest and most powerful Giesen roaster to date.

  • timeline5

    2022 - The expansion

Giesen outgrows its home in Ulft, with buildings filled to the brim. To keep up with rising demand as well as deliver complete roasting solutions, the company takes a bold step: a brand-new, purpose-built facility in Dinxperlo, designed for efficient and streamlined production lines.

    2025 - The new era

In 2025, Giesen Coffee Roasters embraces a new identity: Giesen Roasting Solutions. A name that better reflects its evolution and ambition.

Soon after, another milestone follows which brings us full circle. The W6 and W15 make way for their successors: the Giesen 6 and Giesen 15. A new chapter, rooted in tradition but built for the future.
