Giesen Amsterdam Tour

A few years ago, we launched a four episode YouTube Series: The Giesen Amsterdam Tour.
Our goal was simple, we wanted to step into the world of the people who use our machines every day. Not from behind a drawing table or production line, but on their roasting floors, in their cafés, and in their communities.

Because as a manufacturer, there’s no better way to innovate than by listening.

Over several episodes, we visited four unique Amsterdam-based coffee businesses using Giesen equipment. Each shared their own philosophy, challenges, inspirations, and approach to the craft of roasting. Below, you’ll find every episode of the series, along with a short introduction to each roaster.

Episode 1: Coffee & Coconuts

All-day brunch meets craft roasting in a former cinema

Coffee & Coconuts began roasting their own coffee within the walls of a beautiful old cinema in Amsterdam (although they have since moved locations). Their team shared how much they love being part of a city with so much competition, because competition raises the bar, inspires creativity, and keeps every roaster on their toes.

Episode 2: Stooker Specialty Coffee

Roasting for the hospitality industry and a training academy

Stooker Specialty Coffee doesn’t run their own café. Instead, they focus on supplying beans to the hospitality sector in and around Amsterdam. Their mission was clear from the beginning:“We want more specialty coffee in the hospitality industry.”

They also run a training academy, offering workshops and courses for baristas who want to grow their skills and elevate the coffee experience.

Episode 3: Cafecito

Craft, refinement, and a passion-first approach to specialty coffee

Cafecito is both a coffee roastery and a coffee bar. Their philosophy centers around craftsmanship and finesse. If you do something, they believe you should do it with attention, passion, and appreciation.

They create their coffee for the conscious enjoyment-seekers, the people who chase their dreams, value small refined moments, and appreciate the beauty in detail.

Episode 4: Café Keppler

Roasting as a blend of science, creativity, and craft

For Café Keppler, roasting is the perfect mix of structure and play. “Roasting is a cross between science and cooking. Working, getting stuff done, and playing with food.”

Their appreciation for Giesen equipment comes down to something specific: the ability to easily manipulate airflow—giving them the precision and control they need to craft the flavors they aim for.

The Giesen Amsterdam Tour was a nice reminder of why we build machines in the first place.

Hearing directly from the people who roast with our equipment helps us design better solutions, understand real-world needs, and stay connected to the craft we support. These roasters inspire us with their passion, creativity, and commitment to quality.
